The Qantas Wallabies have named their final squad for the British & Irish Lions tour test series starting in Brisbane on the 22nd June, with Queensland Reds lock James Horwill selected as captain.
Horwill did not feature in the British & Irish Lions tour match against the Reds on Saturday as he was being rested as part of the Wallabies squad.
Horwill has 35 caps for the Wallabies, making his debut in 2007, and has captained the Wallabies previously in 2011.
The Wallabies also announced a further six players are to join their training squad including controversial full back Kurtley Beale. Beale has come into the squad following a period of outcast from his Super XV team Melbourne Rebels after being found drinking the night after a game and missing a counselling appointment as a result. Beale has suffered a number of drinking related problems which have resulted in a number of suspensions and fines.
Also coming into the squad are Digby Ioane, Pat McCabe, Hugh McMeniman, Peter Kimlin and Scott Sio.
There is no place for the mercurial Queensland Reds fly half Quade Cooper who pulled the strings for the Reds against the Lions on Saturday as the Lions ran out 12-22 winners in Brisbane.
The Wallabies squad for the British & Irish Lions series is confirmed as:
